Day 1 - Winery Safety Awareness

Lockout/Tagout Essentials/ Fundamentos de Bloqueo/Etiquetado

Lockout/Tagout is described as the “control of hazardous energy while maintaining, servicing or repairing machinery or equipment.” This course provides an overview of the regulatory requirements, covers basic hazardous energy safety procedures, and identifies practical compliance implementation tools.

Bloqueo/etiquetado se describe como el "control de energía peligrosa, mientras se le da servicio, mantenimiento, o reparación a la maquinaria o equipo." Este curso ofrece un repaso de los requisitos reglamentarios, cubre los procedimientos de seguridad básicos de energía peligrosa, e identifica las herramientas de implementación práctica.

Confined Space Safety/ Seguridad en Espacios Confinados

Confined spaces in winery operations pose a risk to both workers and rescuers alike. In this session, participants will learn to identify confined spaces in their operation, understand the hazards, become knowledgeable in the regulatory safety standards for safeguarding confined space entries and learn the duties and responsibilities of confined space entry participants.

Los espacios confinados en las operaciones de bodega constituyen un riesgo para los trabajadores y los rescatadores por igual. En esta sesión, los participantes aprenderán a identificar espacios confinados en su funcionamiento, comprender los riesgos, adquirir conocimientos en las normas de seguridad reglamentarias para salvaguardar las entradas a espacios confinados, y aprender las funciones y responsabilidades de los participantes de entrada a espacios confinados.

Fall Protection Fundamentals/ Fundamentos de Protección contra Caídas

This session provides participants with fundamental knowledge on how to address the issue of fall protection. The session covers the basics of fall protection, applicable laws and regulations, fall protection plans, and an overview of how to properly utilize harnesses and other fall protection equipment.

Esta sesión proporciona a los participantes los conocimientos fundamentales sobre cómo abordar el tema de protección contra caídas. La sesión cubre los fundamentos de protección sobre caídas, las leyes y los reglamentos aplicables, programas y planes sobre la protección contra caídas, y una visión general de cómo utilizar correctamente los arneses y otros equipos de protección contra caídas.

Day 2 - Forklift Safety Train-the-Trainer

This course provides supervisors, foremen and safety personnel in the winery industry with the knowledge and tools necessary to effectively train employees on the safe operation of forklifts. This workshop will cover regulatory requirements, safety aspects of forklift operation and proper maintenance of equipment. In addition, participants will learn effective training techniques and test their skills by operating forklifts on site.

Participants must have had at least 5 years of forklift experience in order to operate the machinery and to receive a certificate of completion for the course.
