Benefits
The Central Coast Vineyard Team (CCVT) is a non-profit collaboration of progressive agriculture and natural resource professionals with a shared dedication to sustainable winegrowing. Together, we advocate an integrated approach to farming that balances the unique circumstances at each vineyard with those of the environment as a whole. Our work engages a broad audience of agencies, consumers and industry professionals including over 80,000 acres spanning six counties on the Central Coast; we are proud to be one of the largest regional associations in California.
In 2009 with the ongoing support of our members, CCVT celebrated several successes:
- Awarded National EPA for Sustained IPM Excellence
- Awarded Central Coast Magazine & SLO Chamber Green Award
- Received favorable trade & mainstream press with “Farmworkers with 401Ks” article
- Had 8M impressions for our Earth Day Food & Wine Festival in addition to the launch of a new event website
- Continued growth of the Sustainability in Practice (SIP) Vineyard & Winery Certification program
- Expanded press relationships and exposure through press tours, trade/consumer events and media distribution and monitoring service
- Led a successful agency tour with 50 key decision makers
- Expanded presence on web, blog, and social networking sites
- Continued our core industry education programs with record attendance at our Tailgates and Sustainable Ag Expo
