Vineyard Team Receives County Environmental Award

The Central Coast Vineyard Team (CCVT) was among a select group of recipients of the Second Annual San Luis Obispo Environmental Awards given by the San Luis Obispo County Community Foundation.

CCVT received Honorable Mention recognition for its grass roots work in the area of sustainable agricultural practices involving the viticulture industry on the Central Coast. To commemorate the award, CCVT representative and founding member Robert LaVine of Robert Mondavi Winery was presented with a certificate of appreciation and an original watercolor by a local artist at a ceremony held at the Museum of Natural History, Morro Bay State Park. "

We are very proud to be nominated for this award," said CCVT Executive Director Kris OıConnor, "and weıre extremely grateful to the Foundation for recognizing the efforts of our organization and our growers."

A total of 54 nominations were received for this yearıs Environmental Award, which is funded through the Foundation by a donor endowment. Award nominees spanned a wide range of environmental interests and represented a number of geographic areas across San Luis Obispo County. This yearıs first place award went to The Land Conservancy of San Luis Obispo County, and second place honors went to the Environmental Center of San Luis Obispo County. Last yearıs winners were Marla Morrissey of the Morro Estuary Greenbelt Alliance and the Morro Bay National Estuary Program, the Central Coast Salmon Enhancement, and Habitat for Humanityıs ReStore Program.

CCVT is located in Templeton, California, and its primary membership base includes the coastal California counties of San Luis Obispo, Monterey, Santa Barbara, Santa Cruz, and San Benito.
