A conservation plan helps you preserve, conserve, and enhance the natural resources on your property. A plan with specific goals and priorities can help make decisions to improve soil health, prevent erosion, improve the water quality in your area, and protect the productivity of your land for generations.

Conservationists from the Upper Salinas-Las Tablas Resource Conservation District and the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service will explain what a conservation plan is, how to create one, and how to implement it. This will be followed by a tour of Parrish Family Vineyards where the grower worked with the local RCD to implement some of the Best Management Practices (BMPs) that apply to this site.

If you are or are thinking about becoming SIP Certified, this tailgate meeting will get you started on the way to having a completed conservation plan as required by SIP Certified Standards Chapter 1.
