A Night to Remember: Celebrating Our 2025 Juan Nevarez Memorial Scholarship Recipients
In July, our community gathered at Niner Wine Estates to celebrate the 2025 Juan Nevarez Memorial Scholarship recipients—both new and returning. The smiles, proud parents, and big hugs reminded us exactly why this work matters.
This scholarship honors Juan’s legacy by supporting first-generation students with more than just financial aid. Through mentorship, connection, and encouragement, scholars are empowered to persist, graduate, and give back to their communities.
Executive Director Beth Vukmanic shares, "What makes this scholarship unique is its long-term support. Each student receives multi-year funding (up to $20,000!) and a dedicated mentor. That one-on-one support makes all the difference, especially for first-generation students navigating college for the first time."
