Advancing Sustainability Together: A Recap of the 2025 Sustainable Ag Expo

Presented by Vineyard Team, the 2025 Sustainable Ag Expo in San Luis Obispo, CA brought together professionals from across the wine and agricultural industries to exchange ideas, explore innovations, and gain tools to advance sustainability. The event equipped attendees with timely insights and real-world strategies to meet the challenges of modern viticulture.
At its core, the Sustainable Ag Expo is where research meets reality. By bringing together growers, scientists, and industry leaders, the event turns cutting-edge knowledge into practical strategies. Attendees leave not just with continuing education hours, but with strategies they can apply immediately, whether to improve operations, meet certification goals, or solve in-field challenges.
This year’s program featured 16 in-person seminars, 13 online courses, and a powerful keynote conversation on climate resilience with Dr. Chris Chen (UC ANR/UC Davis). Participants accessed 19 DPR hours (including 4 Laws) and 30.5 CCA hours of continuing education, available live and on-demand for flexibility.

Expertise came from all corners of the industry. The event’s 44 speakers represented respected institutions such as UC Davis, Cal Poly, Cornell University, and the University of Wisconsin. Session topics ranged from automation and disease management to labor, technology, and the future of vineyard sustainability, offering attendees a well-rounded, high-impact learning experience.
Inside the exhibit hall, 63 exhibitors showcased tools, services, and products designed to improve efficiency and environmental outcomes, while 15 outdoor exhibitors featured vineyard equipment and tech solutions in action. Attendees explored innovations tailored to vineyard needs.

The Expo also delivered on its commitment to community. Five dedicated networking events fueled by 35 gallons of coffee, 207 donuts, 26 bottles of local SIP Certified wine, and 600 ounces of craft beer encouraged meaningful peer conversations and lasting connections. As Eric Jenssen of Intelliculture noted, “I keep coming back to stay in touch with growers and be part of a vineyard community that’s incredibly solid and genuinely supportive.”
