I began with the Central Coast Vineyard Team on a part time contract in 1998. For all we knew, it was going to be a 6-month gig. No logo. No office. No staff. No programs. All we had was the Positive Points System, a brilliant mission statement, and a wise group of founders. We had no idea what was to come.
It's been an honor and a privilege to be part of this history, but it is time for me to turn things over to the next generation. I'll be exiting the position as Executive Director on December 31, 2021.
The organization has strong leadership, programs, and finances so the timing is excellent. I'm excited to see a new group of enthusiastic and smart growers engaging on the board and committees.
I'm pleased to announce that Beth Vukmanic, SIP Certified Program Director since 2009, will assume the position of Executive Director as of January 1, 2022. Beth is uniquely qualified to lead this organization into its new chapter. Please join me in congratulating Beth!
I will be on retainer through 2022 to support Beth and the organization. Beyond that, there will be special projects, more yoga, photography, and volunteer work.
I'm grateful for your trust and support through the decades. From small meetings at Valley Harvest in Soledad to national awards in Washington, DC, the Vineyard Team will continue to be a leader in educating and guiding growers towards sustainable practices.
We should be proud of what we've accomplished. I look forward to watching the group continue to do this important work.
With gratitude,
