Quarterly Update from Beth Vukmanic

Dear Members,

We have been hard at work bringing together resources on sustainable winegrowing for you during the first quarter of 2023. Here is a recap in case you missed anything that can help you grow your business.

Who Are We

We realize "Vineyard Team" encompasses quite a lot! We are a small but mighty team. Our mission of sustainable winegrowing remains the same after nearly 30 years, and our organization facilitates sustainability in many different ways.

As we have grown and programs have been introduced and expanded, we are frequently asked who we are and what we do. Check out the Who Are We booklet to learn all the ways Vineyard Team helps you make wine sustainably!

Tailgates

Popular Tailgate Meetings give you the opportunity to hear from experts, talk directly with presenters, and see sustainable farming practices in person. Here’s what we learned:

JOIN OUR NEXT TAILGATE

Attention, Members! If you enjoy getting the latest viticulture education at Tailgates as much as we do, bring a friend who is not a current member for free:

  1. Send your friend this link and have them click Register Now.
  2. They choose the event they want to attend and use the code from this page to receive 100% off.
  3. You both attend the tailgate to learn from top viticulture experts.

Juan Nevarez Memorial Scholarship

The Juan Nevarez Memorial Scholarship is our way of giving back to the community.  Scholarships help children whose parents work in California vineyards and wineries achieve their dreams of higher education. With a new investment from Must! Charities we:

  • Will award two- and four-year scholarships, complete with a graduation bonus (totals ranging from $6k to $20k per student!).
  • Invested in a program mentor, who will be a resource to the students throughout their collegiate career.
  • Will be able to help even more students pay for college.

You can help the program flourish

To receive the gifted money from Must! Charities, we need to raise matching funds each year – and we need your help!
In the true spirit of sustainability, we want to create a program that has long-lasting funds so that we can continue to better the lives of our industry's children for decades. 100% of your donation will be applied to a student’s scholarship funding.

What's Up Next?

Vineyard Team has spent nearly 30 years helping the winegrowing community access the latest research and field-tested resources on sustainable farming. Because we are here to help you for the long haul, here is what we have in the works:

  • Strategic Plan: Our Board of Directors (present and past) and staff are developing a five-year road map so that we can keep bringing you the best programs.
  • Online Courses: We are launching an exciting new project to create a library of on-demand education. Stay tuned to learn how you can participate.

Thanks to your support, we continue to connect farmers and ag professionals in our common goal to make great wines with care for the people and planet.
